Monument Made By Hayslip Memorials of Wintersville
The Ebenezer Chapter, Ohio Society, Sons of the American Revolution will conduct a ceremony to dedicate the Revolutionary War Monument at the Brooke/Hancock Veterans Memorial Park, located at the intersections of U.S. Route 22 and W. Va 2 at the South entrance to Weirton, West at 10 AM Saturday, May 21st.
The monument is made of black granite purchased from and engraved by Rock of Ages Memorials, Graniteville, Vermont, through Hayslip Memorials of Wintersville. The monument is of modest size, measuring 44 inches high, 30 inches wide and 8 inches in thickness, on a granite base that measure 36 inches by 14 inches by 8 inches, raising the total height to 52″ inches at its peak. It was placed on site at the Veterans Park on November 10th. Funding for this project was secured from corporations, charitable organizations and private donations.
